Counselling has become more and more widespread as the modern world grows busier. Typically working standard office hours of 9-5 but there are sometimes critical situations in certain professions such as drug and alcohol counselling that require work outside of standard hours. There may also be weekend work required in areas such as youth work operating in weekend programs or other initiatives.

A career in counselling can be an extremely rewarding and worthwhile choice. The opportunity to deliver emotional support for individuals going through a tough time is a dynamic and challenging path. However, counselling does require a large amount of mental and emotional strength and patience.
